How much does a website cost in Malaysia?

A website build with Unsurmeta starts from RM 8,000 for up to five pages. Most business websites Unsurmeta builds cost between RM 10,000 and RM 20,000. The Cost Calculator gives a range for your own pages and features.

Is the estimate the final price?

No, the estimate is a starting range. The final price is fixed in writing after a free 30-minute call.

Why are other quotes higher or lower than the Cost Calculator estimate?

Other quotes often cover different work, and every website estimate from the Cost Calculator includes SEO, analytics, and contact forms.

A lower quote may leave some of that out, or cover a template set up by a junior designer. Larger teams usually add a share for project management, testing, and other overheads, so their quotes run higher.

How does Unsurmeta compare with a freelancer or a full-service agency?

Unsurmeta is a one-person web design agency, registered in Malaysia, and Yassir leads all the work, from the first call to the handover.

A freelancer often costs less, but there may be no written scope or handover, and the domain and the logins can stay in the freelancer’s accounts. At a full-service agency, the person who pitches is often not the person who builds.

What running a website costs each year

After the build fee, a website keeps costing money and time every year to stay online and up to date. How much depends on who runs the site.

  • Apart from the build fee and Unsurmeta’s prices, figures are typical market prices.
  • Agency figures come from public information at the time of writing and may differ from an actual quote.
  • Some agencies add a domain management fee of RM 150–300 a year.
  • Licence figures are for the plugins and themes Unsurmeta builds with.
  • Every column uses the calculator’s build fee, so only the running costs differ.
  • Unsurmeta hosting is RM 840 a year on a shared server, or RM 1,680 on a dedicated server for a busy site or a shop.
  • With Unsurmeta, your domain and other software are in your own accounts and billed to you directly, apart from the Site Care licences.
  • On Site Care, the premium plugin and theme licences are Unsurmeta’s, and the plan covers them. See what Site Care covers →

How each project runs

A website moves from the plan to the launch, and Yassir leads all the work, from the first call to the handover.

Phase 1

Plan

You and Yassir agree the scope and the price before any work starts.

  1. Analysis

Unsurmeta works out what the site needs to do for your business. When the right build is not clear, a paid audit of RM 1,600 comes before the proposal.

  2. Written proposal

Pages, features, and content are agreed in writing, with the timeline and the price. Nothing starts, and nothing changes, without your sign-off.

Phase 2

Create

Unsurmeta designs the pages and adds your content, and you review the site every week.

  1. Design and development

Unsurmeta designs every page around what visitors need to decide, and develops the site on WordPress in your own account. Design and development run together, with a working preview to review each week.

  2. Content

You bring what you have, and Unsurmeta shapes it into pages. Where copy is missing, it can be drafted for you to review as part of the project. If you have a current site, content worth keeping is moved across.

Phase 3

Launch

After testing and your feedback, the site goes live.

  1. Testing

Speed, security, and search checks run on every website build, whatever the size. Contact forms and tracking are checked before launch too.

  2. Your feedback

Before launch, you review the finished site and send your feedback. A change beyond the agreed scope is priced in writing first, and you decide whether to add it.

  3. Launch

The site goes live. On a rebuild, old addresses are redirected so search rankings carry over. At the handover, your domain, logins, and files are in your own accounts, with the documentation and a walkthrough for your team. Every solution comes with a 30-day warranty from launch. A fault in what Unsurmeta delivered is fixed free.

How to compare quotes

Put the same questions to everyone who quotes for your site, and set each answer beside Unsurmeta's.

01

Can the price change after we agree?

The price does not change without your sign-off. The price and the work are agreed in writing before each step starts. A new request or a change is charged, and priced in writing first.

02

Who owns the site and the domain?

The site and domain are yours from the handover. You can move to your own hosting account at any time, with no exit fee.

03

How is the payment split?

Payment is usually a deposit, then the rest in stages. Small projects are paid in full at the start.

04

What happens if something breaks after launch?

Every solution comes with a 30-day warranty from launch. A fault in what Unsurmeta delivered is fixed free. After the 30 days, a fix is priced in writing first.
